Darjeeling is an area in India at the foot of the Himalayas. This premium tea has a sparkling, rich orange and golden infusion with a light and airy feel. A rich and nectar-like mouthfeel with a strong accent of muscatel, tropical fruits and exotic flowers. This grows at around 1,500 meters above sea level and is harvested in June.
The English founded the tea plantations here in the 19th century. Due to the soil and climate, Darjeeling gets its characteristic taste. Darjeeling is considered by many to be the Champagne of teenagers.
Black tea is fully oxidized. That is, the oxidation process is allowed to stop on its own. After oxidation, the tea is dried. It is oxidation that makes the tea leaves dark. Black tea has a strong, often earthy taste and is the most common type drunk in the Western world. Most people prefer to drink black tea with milk, but high quality teas such as Assam, Keemun and Darjeeling are also lovely on their own.
Organic black tea
An organic product is produced in a way that takes the environment into account by not using chemical and synthetic pesticides. It's good for the planet, but also for the tea, the farmer and you. By buying organic teas, you support healthy and long-term tea production.
NO-ØKO-01
We are proud to be the largest Norwegian brand importer of organic tea. To be approved by Debio and use the definition Organic, not only must the ingredients be certified organic, but our own plant must also be certified by Debio and controlled by Mattsilynet.
In addition to import controls from the Norwegian Food Safety Authority, we go beyond the requirements by also taking random samples for pesticides/pesticides and other pollutants.
It is important that tea is stored protected from air and light. That's why we sell all our teas packed in tight aluminum bags with a zip lock.
