Sri Lanka's beautiful landscape is reflected in this tea from the mountains. A classic variety with an elegant, medium-bodied and partially fruity character. If you like black tea, you like Ceylon.
This black tea comes from Ceylon which is the new old on the island of Sri Lanka. There are many classifications and editions of teas from Ceylon. This is an Orange Pekoe (OP), harvested only from one farm (sigle estate).
Black tea is fully oxidized. That is, the oxidation process is allowed to stop on its own. After oxidation, the tea is dried. It is oxidation that makes the tea leaves dark. Black tea has a strong, often earthy taste and is the most common type drunk in the Western world. Most people prefer to drink black tea with milk, but high-quality teas like this are also lovely on their own.
